pre production schedule

i was able to confirm to alok if he received my pre production request for orgchart 1685-1903.
he said yes but he will take the afternoon off so package creation will be moved to 2004-05-27.

audit

i will be conducting sqa audit today. schedule at 3pm - 4pm.

hope everything goes well.

supervising testing

i supervised testing this morning for sakura. aside from a minor tweak in a constant to fix alignment issues when there is too many data, we were good to go to pre production request.

i created the pre-production template and had it approved by mert. i went on to use the template to send my pre-production request for 1685-1903 to alok.

lunch

i ahd lunch at lkg. lunch was bagoong rice, pork stew, scrambled egg, green mango strips, and iced tea.

testing issues

i received testing issues from peter. onshore teasting team member alice, found a rollover link was dead as it was pointing to altair. i verified and altair's web service was down. i asked alok to start it up or me and i did a verification together with bin.

after confirming that the reason was the web service being down at the time of testing, i sent an email giving the details to peter and requesting if the testing team can do another pass for orgchart so that the test cases marked failed can get a new pass mark.

candle burning

i have successfully identified the root cause of the inconsistent behavior in sakura. i did the code rework to fix it and by 11PM, everything is working like the local copy.

i sent an email that the module is ready for testing.

it was agood long day.

1.2.2

the development, pre-production, and production servers has iPlanet 4.1 SP9 and JDK 1.2.2

this is bad news.

and the fact that i am having a hard time developing the application means deep shit.

i will recode, one by one, to make sure it runs on sakura.

lunch

lunch at dolmar's. beef sinigang, one and a half rice, buko juice, and fresh mango slices for dessert.

Monday, May 24, 2004

i had lunch with ces at dolmars. we had pork sinigang, and beef stew with young corn. i had double rice because i usually do not have breakfast. i also had orange pineapple juice.

tagaytay

*phone ringing...

"Hello? Good morning..."

"I'm about to leave the house. I'll meet you at the Ayala Station
in 45 minutes."

"Ok. Thanks for waking me up... bye."

I made my way to the bathroom and fixed myself. I am pretty much excited. We will be going to Tagaytay today and I have been looking forward to the trip thinking how special it will be. My birthday is happening within the next few days and this can be my celebration in advance.

*TO BE CONTINUED

cityjam

wendy invited me to have some drinks at cityjam. i was hesitant because i am not in the mood but i thought she need me as a friend. i made my way to mindanao avenue to meet her and there i met katkat.

i took a table where there were unfinished sundaes and a drink with an open organizer. there were two kids, sitting across the table. katkat came back from the counter with 2 sets of spaghetti meals, it was her treat to the two boys.

we exhanged pleasantries and i got to know she treated the boys because it was pay day. ang bait nya.

wendy came shortly and we are off to look where cityjam is located. after a half hour of driving, we were able to locate it. we ordered sizzling baked oyster with 5 bottles of beer.

kwentuhan, inom, yosi. then by 1030PM, the band stonefreaks, started playing. after 8 songs it was time to go.

con call with onshore technical manager

we had our con call with our onshore tech mgr. a lot of things were cleared between the our roles here as dvelopers. it was more good than bad.

good in a sense that we won't be doing a lot of testing because an onshore team will take responsibility with regression testing in pre production.

i just finished the update of my class and tomorrow, i will start working with one of the jsp pages of my module.

ice cream

ces treated me ice cream at 7-11. she also got me hopia. she needs to attend the birthday celebration of a member of the blc.

i went back to the office for a con call shortly thereafter.

looking forward

im looking forward to the coming weekend. last weekend was spent at my place. i hope to at least unwind this time around.

lunch

lunch was squid adobo (the one i cooked last monday)... i got 2 bbq sticks and 1 rice for the meal.

needle in a haystack turns atomic

our onshore technical manager was was grilling our project managers here because of schedules and constraints. our point man in the onshore was not available during the meeting so we werent able to back up our processes and the added value we provide the project.

things will be difficult for raymond and myself over the coming weeks because of this.

con call meetings every 8PM

i just received an email from emer that there will be a regular con call meeting with jamal every 8PM to check on the status of eDirectory and OrgChart web modules.

i do not know how it will affect my working hours but from i see things, it either means i need to shift my working time from 8-530PM to 12-830PM to accomodate the regular con calls.

i wish to discuss this with emer and mert for their recommendations.

a better room

well, now i can attest that my new room is better than my old room 24. reminds me of the hit series titled with the number.

i got a good night sleep.

darllene, cheche and myself met at KFC delta to chat. it was good but rather short.

Tuesday, May 11, 2004

speechless

i got news from ria... a very close friend... that she and ronald broke up 2 weeks ago...

i was speechless for a moment...

room transfer

i have finally moved our of the dreaded room 24. if you don't know about room 24, it was my room for 3 months and it is almost like a steam room because of poor ventilation! i can't sleep straight because i usually wake up after an hour or so, swetaing heavily.

luckily and thankfully, i was able to transfer to room 1. yes! it is the first room in the front. it has a window which gets air from outside the house.

the transfer would have been difficult without the help of my friends jober and niño. they help me carry the heavier loads like the PC, the monitor, the table and the boxes. I took care of the rest including the computer table.

i have been in room 1 for 2 nights now, and i still woke up once each night! but i woke up not because i was sweating, but because i was searching for my blanket!!

i'm just glad i'm out of room 24!

Friday, May 07, 2004

wedding songs

i was helping ces for the wedding songs of her friend. we weren't able to come up with a lot but it was ok. we had dinner at chowking.

productive

i have another productive day finishing the component testing for projects
1774-1791-1914 for the org chart module i am handling. tomorrow, i can do component test review for edirectory. by monday, i expect to get back to project 1685 and start the redesign of my classes to facilitate the requirement change of the client.

meal

i got lechon kawali, and fried lumpiang gulay with 1 rice for lunch. im starting to lose my appetite again. it seems nagsasawa na ako with the type of lunches i can have. i miss sinigang (beef, pork and shrimp) sa (sampalok, bayabas), nilaga (pork, chicken), sinampalukang manok, binabad sa toyo, and the rest of the home cooked meals i previously enjoyed at home.

having lunch alone

im having my lunch alone again like yesterday... but i'm ok. sometimes, i would be very alone instead of joining group lunches.

the travel and the dinner

the travel was surreal... i was more than happy... it was so wonderful... the dinner was great... everything seems perfect...

They tend to seek jobs that require little social contact. Their social skills are often weak and they do not show a need for attention or acceptance. They are perceived as humorless and distant and often are termed "loners."

Schizotypal
Many believe that schizotypal personality disorder represents mild schizophrenia. The disorder is characterized by odd forms of thinking and perceiving, and individuals with this disorder often seek isolation from others. They sometimes believe to have extra sensory ability or that unrelated events relate to them in some important way. They generally engage in eccentric behavior and have difficulty concentrating for long periods of time. Their speech is often over elaborate and difficult to follow.

Antisocial
A common misconception is that antisocial personality disorder refers to people who have poor social skills. The opposite is often the case. Instead, antisocial personality disorder is characterized by a lack of conscience. People with this disorder are prone to criminal behavior, believing that their victims are weak and deserving of being taken advantage of. They tend to lie and steal. They tend to make good first impressions, yet have difficulty maintaining long-lasting relationships. They are generally uninterested in the feelings of others and may take advantage of them.

Avoidant
Avoidant personality disorder is characterized by extreme social anxiety. People with this disorder often feel inadequate, avoid social situations, and seek out jobs with little contact with others. They are fearful of being rejected and worry about embarassing themselves in front of others. They exaggerate the potential difficulties of new situations to rationalize avoiding them. Often, they will create fantasy worlds to substitute for the real one. Unlike schizoid personality disorder, avoidant people yearn for social relations yet feel they are unable to obtain them. They are frequently depressed and have low self-confidence.

Dependent
Dependent personality disorder is characterized by a need to be taken care of. People with this disorder tend to cling to people and fear losing them. They avoid working in teams, believing others to be too careless or incompetent. They avoid making decisions because they fear making mistakes and are rarely

all hands!

you know what? we had our all hands project meeting. its for the whole project of verizon offshore program. In here, project updates for the past two months are discussed and recogniton given to individuals who were able to perform well during the period, usually every other two months. There are 10 awards that are given during this meeting. Each award can have none to many runner ups and the eventual awardee. Awards ranges from "good samaritan" which means being able to help teammates and other colleagues in their projects, to "sensei" which means they have dedicated time to teach and educate others as well.

this was my second time to attend the meeting. the first one was when i was fairly new to my team, eWeb, which was way back february.

i'm just sharing this because I am so happy! :) guess what? i got an award!! i received the "defensive specialist" award. that was because of the bug I caught on a teammates module during the change control of the module. the module was about to be put into production, and i was able to see the bug.

i'm just so happy because it is one my goals this year. That is to be able to receive awards every all hands meeting. i wanted to be able to perform well and i hope that my project managers will be able to recognize it.

now i disgress.

turning point

i had been devastated, trampled, almost eradicated. but sometime, there are things that are meant to be. and it happened. a beautiful experience that can never be replaced. an experience you treasure for the rest of your life.

dunkin donuts? anyone?

foolish

i can't just stay dead. she can easily bring me up from the dead.

arvin died

well, not all people know that arvin jay is different from arvin, arvin is different from arjay, arjay is different from ice. let's call it a multiple personality syndrome. arvin jay is what is know by most people when i was in college and high school. arjay is what my family know who i am, and ice is the guy that is working here in makati. arvin, is kinda special since it is the me uncontrolled. well arvin just committed suicide last night. there will be no more stupid, childish, foolish, and uncontrollable arvin to deal with.

i'll be back as iCe.

uNo summer outing

we had great fun. uNo members were cool. i was aloof and alone for awhile before i started joining the fun. i met some kababayans from cebu. even a schoolmate back in high school. the trip back to makati was even better as i took the coaster with some members and we played some games and penalties for losing was singing a song.
